Description
The horsebit is the oldest ornament in the loafer vocabulary and the one that still reads as expensive from across a room. Here it sits on a shoe that costs sixty pounds and stands on a chunky white sole — the borrowed formality and the casual base cancel each other out, which is exactly why the combination works.
The upper is embossed microfibre, which holds the shape around the bit better than a soft nap would: the hardware needs something with a bit of body behind it or it sags. Inside, PU lining and footbed. The toe is round, the topline sits below the ankle bone, and there is nothing to fasten.
Two colourways, black and brown. Black is the one that carries the metal best. Brown warms the whole thing up and is the easier of the two with denim. Half sizes are available from UK 5½ to UK 9½.
