The buckle here actually does something, which is rare on a loafer. Most vamp hardware is decoration bolted onto a fixed opening; this one adjusts, so you can set the width across the instep once and leave it. On a slip-on with no laces, that is the only way to accommodate a foot that is not average.
The upper has a plain, soft nap and the sole is flat and pale, which pulls the shoe firmly into casual territory — this is a shoe for a chino and a linen shirt, not for tailoring. The topline sits low and the heel is flat.
Five colourways: navy, black, grey, camel and dark brown. Navy and camel are the two worth having; grey is the quiet one. The larger end of the size range suits wider or fuller feet.
