Description
Cow suede on a shoe with no ornament at all is a good combination, because the material has to carry the whole thing. The nap does the work a buckle would otherwise do — it catches the light unevenly along the vamp and gives the shoe some depth from a distance, where a smooth synthetic would read flat.
The upper is stitched, not glued, and the footbed is pigskin. Leather underfoot is the detail most makers skip at this price, and it is the one you feel by the end of a day on your feet: it takes up moisture instead of holding it against the sole. The outsole is white rubber with a low wrap, which places the shoe on the casual side — this is a weekend loafer, not an office one.
Two colourways: taupe and slate blue. Taupe is the neutral, warmer than grey and easier than beige. Slate blue is the one people ask about, a soft dusty blue that works with stone and white in summer.
