Description
The double monk is usually a strict shoe: two straps, two buckles, and a proper fastening to work through every morning. This one keeps the look and drops the effort. The buckles are there across the vamp, but the shoe slips on like a loafer, which is the whole trick — the formality of a monk with the convenience of a slip-on.
The white rubber sole is the second decision that defines it. A traditional monk sits on a dark welted sole and belongs with a suit; putting this one on a white sole with a 1 to 3 cm heel pulls it firmly into casual territory. It works with a chino and a knit, not with tailoring.
