Description
Flat is the word that matters here. Most loafers lift the heel by a centimetre or two; this one sits the foot almost level with the ground, which changes how it feels to walk in and how it looks under a trouser. The line is longer and lower, closer to a slipper than to a shoe, and it is the reason this shape keeps coming back every summer.
A saddle strap runs across the vamp with a stitched edge, and that is the only detail on the shoe. The toe is softly rounded, the topline is cut low enough to show the instep, and there is nothing at the back to hold the heel except the shape of the shoe itself — so it wants to be worn snug rather than loose.
