Description
A driving loafer built for the smart end of casual. The upper is a smooth artificial leather rather than a nap, so it wipes clean and holds a crease better than suede — the practical choice if the shoe is going to spend its life between a car, an office and a restaurant. A slim gold-tone bar sits across the vamp as the only detail.
The construction is a moccasin: the upper is wrapped under the foot and stitched around the toe rather than lasted over a board, which is what gives the style its softness straight out of the box. Inside, a PU lining and PU footbed. Under it, a flexible rubber sole that bends with the ball of the foot.
Five colourways. Black and dark brown are the two that work under a suit. Tan is the everyday one. Cream belongs to summer and shows every mark, forest green is the one people ask about. One honest note on a new pair: artificial leather can carry a faint adhesive smell out of the box. Leave them somewhere airy for a day or two and it goes.
