Description
The finish is what sets this one apart. Rather than a shine or a true nap, the upper has a fine matte texture that reads as suede from a step away and wipes clean like a synthetic — a fair compromise for a shoe meant to be worn all summer and not fussed over.
The construction is properly done for the price: an apron seam runs around the vamp and the quarter seams are stitched, so the shape is held by stitching rather than glue alone. The penny strap is fixed, with the traditional cut-out, and there is no hardware anywhere. Inside, a synthetic lining over an EVA footbed. The sole is white rubber, which is what places this shoe firmly in the casual half of the range.
Three colourways and none of them are safe choices, which is the appeal. Slate blue is the one that carries an outfit. Cream is high summer and will mark.
