Description
The finish is the point. A high-shine upper reflects rather than absorbs, which turns a plain loafer into an evening shoe — and on the deep colours used here, it reads as depth rather than as plastic. A metal bit sits across the vamp as the only ornament.
The upper is split leather, stitched rather than bonded along the vamp seam, which is what stops that seam lifting after a season of wear. The sole is rubber: quieter than leather on a hard floor and far better on a wet pavement, which matters for a shoe that will be worn out in the evening.
Four colourways, and none of them is a compromise. Black is the formal default. Navy does the same job with more interest under a dark suit. Burgundy is the one people notice. Dark green is the reason to scroll past the black — deep enough to pass as neutral in low light, unmistakable in daylight.
