Description
The upper is cow leather finished with a nap rather than a shine — this is a suede-finished cow leather — both descriptions apply. What it means in practice is a soft, matte surface that behaves like suede: it brushes rather than wipes, and it will darken slightly at the flex points over time.
The construction is plain and properly done. The upper is stitched, the topline sits below the ankle bone, and there is no hardware anywhere on the shoe. The footbed is pig split leather, the sole is rubber. Nothing here is trying to be clever, which is why it works with almost anything.
Four colourways and they cover the ground well: tan for everyday, stone for summer, khaki for the one that goes with olive and navy, black for when it needs to be smart. If your foot is wide or high across the instep, take the next size up — a slip-on opening is fixed and cannot be let out. Dry weather only; keep a suede brush for the nap. Remove surface dust with a soft suede brush, working in one direction to lift the nap. Keep them away from water and treat them with a suede protector spray before first wear. Do not wipe suede with a wet cloth. If they get wet, let them dry naturally, away from direct heat, then brush the nap again.
