Description
A traditional tassel loafer on an untraditional base. The upper is polished and the tassels hang from a lace around the topline exactly as they should — everything above the sole line is a proper dress shoe. Below it, a thick white sole with a squared edge, which pulls the whole thing into the present.
The contrast is the point. A tassel loafer on a slim leather sole is a formal object with a lot of history attached; the same upper on a chunky white base is a shoe you can wear with a wide-leg trouser and a plain knit. It also puts more material between the foot and the pavement, which is no bad thing.
Two colourways: black and tan. Black is graphic against the white sole and is the one most people will want. Tan is warmer and works better in summer.
