Description
Unlined, which on a summer loafer is the whole point. There is no second layer between the foot and the upper, so the shoe is lighter, it breathes, and it takes the shape of the foot within a couple of wearings instead of staying rigid around it. Worn barefoot in July, that is the difference that matters.
The tassels hang from a lace around the topline in the traditional way. The upper has a short, even nap, the footbed is EVA with real cushioning, and the sole is rubber. The topline sits below the ankle bone, so the shoe stays out of the way of a cropped trouser.
Three colourways: sand, cream and cognac — a deliberately warm, pale set that belongs to summer rather than to an office. Cognac is the one that carries into autumn. The material was listed as cow suede — a suede-finished leather. We state both rather than choose the flattering one. If you fall between two, take the larger. Care
Remove surface dust with a soft suede brush, working in one direction to lift the nap. Keep them away from water and treat them with a suede protector spray before first wear. Do not wipe suede with a wet cloth. If they get wet, let them dry naturally, away from direct heat, then brush the nap again.
