Description
Strapless is the right description. There is no saddle, no bit, no tassel and no keeper — the vamp is a single unbroken piece of canvas from the toe to the throat. It makes the shoe read as one clean shape, and it is why this one works as a walking shoe where a more decorated loafer would look fussy.
The lining is cotton and the footbed is bonded leather, which is a better pairing than the price suggests: cotton breathes and leather absorbs, so the shoe stays tolerable on a warm day worn without socks. The sole is rubber, flat and grippy enough for a hard court or a long pavement.
Six colourways: beige, cream, black, navy, grey and yellow. Yellow is the outlier and the one worth taking a chance on. Sizing runs from UK 5½ to UK 10½, one of the longest runs in the shop, a size up is advised for wide or thick feet. Canvas is not waterproof and does not pretend to be — this is a dry-weather shoe.
