Description
Flannel and metal is an unlikely pairing and the reason this one works. The cloth has the soft, dry hand of a suit fabric — matte, textured, absorbing light — and the polished buckle sitting on it provides the only hard edge in the whole shoe. On a smooth synthetic the same buckle would look like an afterthought.
The upper is stitched rather than bonded, and lined and footbedded in PU. The sole is rubber with a flat heel. The toe is round with room across the joints.
Four colourways: sand, black, navy and cream. Navy takes the buckle best; sand and cream are summer shoes and both will show a mark. Treat it as a fabric shoe, because that is what it is — dry weather only, brush rather than wipe, and keep it away from standing water.
