Description
Air mesh is a knit rather than a sheet — thousands of small openings across the whole upper, not a solid panel with holes punched in it. On a summer flat that changes everything: the shoe breathes across its entire surface, and it weighs almost nothing in the hand.
The upper is worked as a patchwork, with panels of mesh seamed together so the texture shifts across the vamp. It is lined in mesh too, which is the consistent choice — there is no point breathing through the outside if the inside is sealed. The footbed is PU and the sole is rubber.
Five colourways: navy, black, burgundy, grey and white. Burgundy and navy hold the mesh texture best; white is the summer one and, being mesh, is the hardest of the five to keep clean. One note on the material: the upper is air mesh; the product title listing was ambiguous. The photographs show mesh, so that is what we have described — but we state both rather than quietly pick one. Half sizes from UK 4 to UK 8½, and it is not waterproof, which a mesh shoe never is.
