Description
The thick sole is doing two jobs. It adds height without a heel, so the foot stays flat inside the shoe and the walk is unchanged. And it puts a real depth of material between the foot and the ground, which is the difference between a flat you can wear for an hour and one you can wear for a day on hard floors.
Above the sole line there is nothing to describe, and that is intentional. A plain vamp, a round toe, no hardware and no strap. On a chunky base, restraint is what keeps the shoe from looking heavy — every ornament you add up top has to compete with the sole.
Two colourways, white and black. White with a white sole reads as one clean block and is the version most people will want in summer. Black is the year-round one. The fit advice is unusually strong: one to two sizes up for a wide foot or a thick instep, which is more than most makers suggest and worth taking seriously, since the opening is fixed.
