Description
A flat, in the proper sense: no heel to speak of, a thin sole, and an upper soft enough to fold. The vamp is stitched in the moccasin way with the seam left visible around the toe, which is what gives this shape its slightly rumpled, easy look rather than the crispness of a structured shoe.
The upper is a polyester with a suede finish — a matte, fine-napped surface that behaves like suede to look at and like a synthetic to clean. On a shoe at this price that is a sensible trade: it will not take on a patina the way real suede does, but it will not be ruined by one rainy afternoon either. Underneath, a plain rubber sole.
Four colourways: black, dark brown, amber and tan. Amber is the one worth having if you already own something dark. One thing to know before ordering: this model is made in a smaller size run than most of our loafers, from UK 2½ to UK 6½.
