Description
Forty pounds for a tassel loafer, and the corners cut are the right ones. The upper is a faux suede with a fine matte nap; the tassels hang from the topline the way they should rather than being glued on as an afterthought. The heel is a modest two centimetres — present enough to lift the line of the foot, low enough to walk on all day.
The shoe is unlined, which at this price is a choice in your favour rather than against it: nothing sits between the foot and the upper, so it breathes and it moulds quickly instead of staying rigid. The footbed is PU and the sole is rubber.
Three colourways: beige, black and cream. Black is the one that does the work. Beige and cream are the summer pair and both will mark, which is the trade you accept with a pale nap. Brush the nap when it flattens at the flex points, keep them out of the rain, and do not try to sponge a mark out with water. Half sizes from UK 4½ to UK 8.
