Description
This is a British-style loafer, and the cut backs that up: a low, clean vamp, a rounded toe and a small gold buckle set square across the instep. It is the shape that has been worn with a pleated skirt and a knee sock for eighty years, and it works for the same reason it always did — the buckle is the only thing on it.
The upper and sole are both PVC, which makes this the most weather-indifferent shoe in the range: it wipes clean, it does not stain, and a wet pavement does it no harm at all. It also means it does not breathe, so it is a cool-weather shoe rather than a summer one, and a sock is a good idea.
Three colourways: cream, black and tan. Black is the most literal reading of the style; cream is the softest; tan sits between. The size run is short, from UK 3½ to UK 6½ — check before ordering. There is no fit guidance beyond the size chart, so we have not invented any: order your usual size and use the foot-length table below if you are unsure. Do they need breaking in?
There is no set break-in time for this pair. What is declared for this pair: the upper is PVC. If a pair does not feel right once you have it on, our 30-day return applies.
Can I wear them without socks?
That is your call — there is no published recommendation either way. No-show socks keep the inside of any shoe fresher if you wear it often.
