Description
This one sits between a loafer and an ankle boot, and it is the shape that makes it. The upper carries on past the ankle bone instead of stopping below it, but there is no zip, no lace and no elastic panel — the collar is soft enough to stretch as the foot goes in and to sit close once it is on. It reads as a boot from a distance and wears like a slipper.
The upper is PU with a fine stitch line following the topline, lined and footbedded in PU. The sole is rubber with a 1 to 3 cm heel — enough to lift the foot off cold ground, not enough to change how you walk. It works with a cropped trouser, where the higher collar closes the gap at the ankle that a low loafer leaves open.
Five colourways: black, stone, blue, plum and camel. The size list here runs wider than most of our loafers. Cut true to size. A word on wear: PU does not breathe like leather, so this is a cool-weather shoe rather than a summer one, and a sock is a good idea. Wipe clean with a damp cloth; not waterproof.
