The cheapest shoe in the range and one of the most useful. There is nothing to it — a soft split-leather upper, a round toe, a low sole and no ornament of any kind — which is precisely why it works as the pair you keep by the door and wear to everything that does not require a decision.

Split leather is the underside of the hide. It is more supple than a corrected grain and it takes colour beautifully, which matters here more than usual: five colourways at forty pounds means you can own the yellow as well as the black. The footbed is PU, the sole rubber, and the shoe is cut soft throughout so there is no wearing-in.
