Description
The bow is the shoe. A butterfly knot sits across the vamp — soft, unstructured, tied rather than moulded — and everything else is kept plain so it has room to work. On a suede this deep, the knot reads as texture more than as decoration.
Underneath the surface it is better built than a decorative flat usually is. The lining is mesh, which is a genuinely thoughtful choice on a closed shoe worn without socks: it moves air where a synthetic lining traps it. The footbed is fabric, and the outsole is rubber with a stated anti-slip tread — worth having on a flat with no heel to catch you.
One colourway, and burgundy is the right one for it. It is deep enough to be discreet and warm enough not to read as black, and it sits well against grey, navy and cream. Suede rules apply: dry weather, a brush for the nap, and no water. The internal width is published for each size — from about 8.5 cm at UK 4½ up to 10.5 cm at UK 7½ — and advises a size up for a slightly wide or full foot.
