Description
Cut as a Mary Jane rather than a loafer: the vamp sits higher across the instep and the shape is rounder and softer, closer to a schoolgirl shoe than to a slip-on. Across it runs a fringe, with a butterfly knot tied over it — two soft details on a soft shoe, which is a more coherent idea than putting hardware on suede.
The upper is genuine cow suede, which at fifty pounds is worth the attention: the nap has depth that a synthetic cannot fake, and it will age rather than simply wear out. Inside, PU lining and footbed; underneath, a plain rubber sole with no heel.
Two colourways, cognac and sand. Cognac is the warmer and the more forgiving; sand is the summer one and will mark, as pale suede does.
